We've been married for 24 years and have three children. We know what it is like to struggle through life's ups and downs, between us we've experienced loss, addictions, poverty, chronic illness and most things in-between. We've survived raising two now adult children on who are on the Autistic Spectrum and have one child still at home who also has also been recently diagnosed with ASD,
One of the things we've come to learn in life, is that it can be lonely, especially when you're going through heavy stuff, and one of the greatest gifts we've ever received in life, is the love and support from friends during difficult times. During our Christian lives, we have had a love of hospitality, we've created cosy and welcoming spaces for friends to come and eat with us, chill and have fun, but years ago, God put on our heart to open our home further, so that we could invite guests to come and enjoy overnight stays, to be fed, loved and looked after and built up again to face the world. Our heart is to provide a safe space to people who may not have had the resources for a short break/holiday, that is why we have renovated the top floor in our home, to be a private space for guests to come. Although our prices may be comparable with some other guesthouses in Blackpool, here, we having placed priority on bringing a touch a luxury, and providing those extra little touches which make people feel special and valued.
Laighton is a football mad, model railway enthusiast, with a love of most sports, especially Cricket and Snooker. He keeps up to date with new technology and loves gadgets! Brought up in and around pubs and the football terraces, he knows a thing or two about life. He was a team member of Eden Merseybank for 9 years, and currently works for a homeless charity in Manchester. He's practical and good at problem solving and likes to have a laugh.
Heather loves to cook and experiment with food, she can often be found in the ethnic grocery shops absorbing the culture and looking for inspiration. She enjoys good coffee and a chit chat, and she has a good listening ear. Brought up in a Christian home, she went off the rails as a teen, but found her way back to God. She has a cheeky sense of humour.
Heather worked alongside Laighton on Eden and was team leader for 3 years before they both moved to Blackpool.
